Here at Saveg, we make the most adventurously flavoured plant based pies in order to fulfill our mission of creating the ultimate plant based comfort food.
We do this by taking the humble vegetables, cook them with bold flavours inspired by our foodie travels and cram them into a pie, all wrapped up in our uniquely SAVEG pastry.

SAVEG was created by Cardiff based female founders Maria Marling and Marysia Thompson. After finding there were no hassle free, comforting dinner options in the supermarket, the pair got in their home kitchen, testing recipes and creating pies they would want to eat. This quickly progressed to selling at local farmers markets and independent restaurants. Soon they were doing 15 hour days, making hundreds of pies in their home. “There was no room for anything else in our fridge at that time other than pies, so it was pies for breakfast, lunch and dinner” says Maria. After an article was released about their story, they gained investment from three welsh angel investors. They now have a SALSA approved factory in the welsh valleys and are selling into retail and wholesale businesses across the UK.
