About

“Brothers Pete and Danny are the masters behind this new and exciting craft gin company from Mid Wales. Using botanicals that are foraged locally from within the Dyfi biosphere, they have created some special gins at their little distillery in Corris. Their gins beautifully reflect the region from which they are born, and have some seriously tasty awards to back them up.”

We established the Dyfi Distillery in 2016 to create a range of artisan gins with a genuine sense of place. Since beginning, Pollination Gin has won the Best UK Gin trophy at the Great British Food Awards (2017), Hibernation Gin was named Best New Gin by The Independent (2017), while our Dyfi Original Gin was listed as the only craft gin in The Week’s Six of the Best Gins you could buy (also in 2017).

Our Story

We opened the Dyfi Distillery by the old slate-mining village of Corris in 2016, drawing on many years of local foraging, experimental science and professional wine and spirits experiences. We create artisan, expressive gins by hand, which genuinely reflect the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve where they are produced.

This is achieved through extensive foraging and selection, and precision-distilling in very small batches. As a wholly family-owned and run distillery, we aim to work not only meticulously, but also sustainably.

We remain one of the very rare examples in the world of a gin distillery which uses mainly foraged botanicals across our range, regularly attracting national radio and television coverage, and industry awards.

Uncommonly for our size, we welcome curious visitors every day during our distilling season. You can find us on the road between Machynlleth and Dolgellau, following the signs for Corris Craft Centre.
