Tomos a Lilford
“This exciting and adventurous microbrewery is based in the Vale of Glamorgan and we love their range of great tasting, original flavoured beers. We’re particularly fond of the stories and legends behind each individual product, too. Each one has its own history, giving the beers their own personalities. Learn more about them here.”
Our aim is to create a range of brews with a genuine sense of place. Our microbrewery is situated a short distance from the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, whose mad beauty truly takes our breath away. It is our love and passion for our home and its sheer beauty that inspires our approach to our brews and the business we run. Each beer that we produce contains a little something from the landscape around us, be it locally grown hay, wild strawberries, rosemary or honey; seaweed foraged from our local beach or a delicious rye bread purchased from our friend’s bakery – there’s a little bit of home in every one of our beers.
Though today the brewery is run solely by Rob, Tomos a Lilford began its journey in 2013 with Rob and his brother Jim and their friend, Rolant Tomos at the helm. What started off as a friendship between two dads (Rob and Rolant) at the school gates bonding over our love of craft beers and the dream of owning a brewery soon turned into a real business plan and the dream finally came true.
Rob, an electrician by trade, always had dreams of owning his own microbrewery and with the help of Rolant, a business mentor, his dream was realised. Jim joined the team soon after, and the perfect trio was formed.
The brewery, which started brewing 6 years ago, is made out of recycled hot water tanks, adapted IBC’s and held together with a fair amount of jubilee clips and hope!
They now have our own unit in Vale Business Park, Llandow, and are open to the public on selected days for you to try our exciting, innovative beers.
"For me, beer tells a story and tugs at the heartstrings a little. That’s really what we’re about. We want you to sit down, take a sip and be transported to somewhere surprising, somewhere that brings a smile to your face."
