Ex professional rugby star, Nick Macleod, has enjoyed a long and successful rugby career and in the last few years has decided to pursue the other passion in his life, that of baking. Three years ago he took over the running of One Mile Bakery in Cardiff, based in his home village of Rhiwbina on the outskirts of the capital, hand-delivering his homemade, artisan breads once a week to local subscribers within a mile of his home. Each week offers something different, giving subscribers the opportunity to sample a range of exquisite, homemade breads – as well as soups or jams, should they wish.
In addition to these weekly deliveries, Nick also runs a programme of cookery classes where he teaches small groups of baking enthusiasts the art of bread making at home.
